I do believe in fairies, I do, I do!
Feb. 16th, 2004 05:16 pmSaw Peter Pan (the new movie) up at the Crest with Anneka and the parentals...was Naka's overdue birthday present. Hope you liked it! :)
It was indeed a lovely movie...lots of glitter, but some actual substance there too.
(some while later)
Went up to Emily's to feed the animals...I took Sadie out for a walk and it rained and we both got very very wet. I tried to dry her off a bit but she didn't take to the towel very well.
Mom spent the whole ride home nagging me about college. Apparently I'm not allowed to do anything I want to do until I finish every single thing I have left to do. Really. Uh huh. Not happening.
I went across to Lou's to feed the cats...I was feeling wet and cold and unhappy and I didn't really want to go back home and hear more about college, so I leaned against the door and thought I'd stay there for a while. Moses looked up at me and said "Merrr-row?" and so I crouched down to scratch his ears, and he jumped up on my lap and sat there purring while I petted him. Just like a daemon would have done, if I'd had one. He poked me and purred and gave me cat-whisker kisses, and eventually climbed up to my shoulders. I think he was poking the mail slot. I think he wanted to get into the house. But it was still lovely, and daemon-happy-making, and covered me in fur.
The movie was good. Did I say that? It was pretty. And made me very happy...and then made me very sad, because I wasn't in it. Not in the movie, in the world it created...with the fantasy and the jungles and the pirate ships and how even ridiculous things are real when you're a kid, and you can shoot handmade arrows out of handmade bows and tell stories and fly...the flying was beautiful. I want to fly, and sit cross-legged-upside-down on the ceiling, and be the best swordsperson ever and wear large feathered hats and say, "oh the cleverness of me!" Can I be Peter Pan?
It was cast well, too. I think. Wendy and Peter were a good match, the boys were good as well--they had Cap'n Hook and Mr. Darling played by the same actor. That was nice...Peter had a beautiful smile. Really he did...every time he smiled at the camera I melted and wanted to give him a huge hug. And fly. Did I mention I wanted to fly?
I have to go help with dinner...waffles, I think. Waffle is a funny word. Oh! Ozy and Millie (www.ozyandmillie.org) is back up and running! Best as always. :)
