The week of boot-camp rehersals is over...it was exhausting. But good. We had rehearsal yesterday at my house, trying to figure out the space. We abbriviated the abridgement--I think we went through both acts in about fifteen minutes. Heh.
I went to the farmer's market Saturday morning (and managed to get home in time for rehearsal, hah!), so for lunch that day there was ciabatta and chevre and olives and all sorts of goodness in food. I could never be a vampire...I love food too much.
And then we went to Allie's and poked about and had a really weird dinner...frozen halibut and quesadillas and indian frybread. Mmm. Fried food. Er. And then it got dark...and we went hunting. Har de har...at Talaris, which incidentally is kind of frightening in it's perfection of lawns and stuff. The grass was so nice it was freaky. Good for barefeet, though...it was a good game. (She thought I was being stoic...really? I just couldn't think of anything to say. :))
Today I sat in the kitchen chair and read an entire book. Which wasn't very good, in itself; but I found it rather nice to read a whole book in two hours, which is something I haven't done...Mom ran off and left Dad and I to finish the berry custard, so of course it didn't thicken (pooh). We walked to U Village, through the ravine, which was shady and not so hot. (I am such a heat wimp. Eighty degrees and I'm flat.) We wandered about without purpose and then stopped by Blockbuster on the way home and got Big Fish, which I am much looking forward to...
Good dinner tonight also. Salmon and rice and stuff. Outside. The sisters are making Jewish food night (what was it, latkes and spice cake?) and I will miss that but it's okay, I guess.
Tomorrow I have to think about what I want to do in England...honestly. It's like when people ask what I want to study in college: "Um...everything?" (Which isn't entirely true...I don't need to do everywhere in England, nor do I need to study literally everything. But it's close enough.) And then rain barrels at Audubon...
Tuesday I get to turn myself into Italian mafiosa chef. Aw right...real pizza, two sorts of pasta with sauce from scratch, frappe for dessert (would have done cannoli but that's just a little too much)...mmm. I shall explode from all this good food.
And now I'm going down to the kitchen. To cook and eat and get out of this heat...aiiie!
