an epistolary journal entry. (kind of.)
Sep. 22nd, 2004 11:19 am(Things I wrote in my paper journal today.)
I have learned that the charm of a hot breakfast diminishes when breakfast in question is not so hot. Nonetheless very filling. Was asked by Sho--a boy from my small group from orientation--if I would like to sit at his table, but I was nearly finished by then anyway. Still, sentiment v. much appreciated, all the same. Am in hopes of v. cheerful breakfasts with honors people (as Caroline mentioned of last year)--time will tell.
Am sitting on the floor outside my classroom. I miss Northwest. I think Leah and I are going to visit soon. Nearly time for Philosophy (much excitement!).
Philosophy I think will be fabulously cool. The paper title is "A Critical Analysis of Plato's Treatment of X," X being any topic Plato touches upon. Politics, justice, wisdom, love, women, rhetoric, art, math, science...what should I do?
I had hopes of turning this into a rather silly letter (have been influenced I think by listening to
sbp_aloud --I do believe in commas. I do. I do.) but am finding it more difficult than expected as have no one that I am particularly directing the letter to. I have written a few letters to people....I hope they get there.
And now I am sitting on the floor again waiting for Danica to get out of class so we can eat lunch so we can do laundry. Laundry! Clean clothes!
Oh, incidentally...that used CD store which I will be returning to because its siren call cannot be ignored, though I try? I'm wanting to expand my jazz collection (seeing as I have NO jazz, expansion is a good beginning). For all you jazz people out there...who'd you recommend? I want a copy of Waters of March but I haven't thought about it much. Let me know.
Gah. I write things and it all feels so dull at the moment...I'll read the Odyssey.
