Apr. 24th, 2005 05:24 pmLast night I saw Velocity Dance-Theater's production of Rapunzel, and it was brilliant--three actors, the witch, the girl, the prince; they used circus tissu, which are those long thick ribbons that hang from the ceiling. I LOVE those--I love the movements that come out of them and the things they can do in the air and how the dancers can get all tangled up and then suddenly flip perfectly out of the mess. And the girl was in love with the witch and the witch with the girl and then the prince loved the witch but was seduced by the girl; and the narrator had a fabulous guitar and a beautiful voice and lovely hair, and he was very funny. So yes. I enjoyed myself.
Have done little homework this weekend. *shoots self, metaphorically*
And finally:
FRIDAY everyone is seeing Hitchhiker's! At Cinerama! At...seven, I think. I have NO school after ten, so possibly I could go down and hold a place in line early; but only if I know how many I'm saving for, and only if other people come and hang with me early as well. I'm not saving a place for twenty others, that's silly.
And SUNDAY MAY FIRST is Beltane! So: picnic in the afternoon to celebrate, probably at Volunteer park unless many people yell at me to change it (yes, I love Gasworks, but it's really hard to get there without rides).
Bring: Good food to eat, good things to drink, blankets to sit on, musical instruments to play / portable boombox-thingies and music, frisbees, balls, etc and games to play, all that.
Don't bring: alcohol, drugs, guns--all that, not that any of you would do that. Right.
And tell me if you're coming! I am NOT the official organizer (there isn't one), and claim no responsibility whatsoever (hah) but it'd be nice to know anyway. Will be sending official email later.
