happy beltane! (go have sex)
May. 1st, 2005 09:48 pmSo apparently Anneka and I are a cute lesbian couple. Who knew? No, seriously...I was sitting on her lap at an outside table on Broadway (because she was cold) and this man came up--I'm pretty sure he was stoned, or something--and asked if we had any money, and then said, "hey...you girls are really cute." And we said, no, we'd spent it all on ice cream. And he said, "not even a dollar? ...you girls are really so cute." And Nakka and I looked confused and he said, "especially when you were kissing," and we said, "what?" and he said, "no, you totally were, I saw you..." And then he wandered away and we were even more confused. (Naka, it might have been when I put my head on your shoulder and nearly fell asleep. Maybe that looked like kissing from a block away? Only I also think he was on something, so.) And then about five minutes later a group passed us and a woman said, "you're so cute!" And I yelled after her, "did you say we were cute? What?" And she yelled something else I didn't catch. It was weird and also funny...but then, we were really twanged. No, really. If there had been alcohol there we would have been drunk, but we weren't...
Beltane party was fun. I love the frisbee and the good food and hanging with everybody and playing Pychiatrist (even though I am SO BAD at that when I'm asking the questions) and acting out movie scenes (haha, that failed), and oooh I miss summer like nothing else.
As I was walking back to my dorm I was feeling kind of bad--really tired, and I had drunk too much water, and I had hiccups again*--and I started depressedly going through all the shit I had to do this week and then Tuesday night came up in my head and I thought, rehearsal! Theater! and felt instantly better. It really is amazing what having theater work does for me.
*I HATE HICCUPS BEYOND ANYTHING ELSE THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO MY BODY. Just, you know, for the record. ARGH.
Time is truly weird. It feels like forever until something happens and then...suddenly it's gone. And things never turn out the way you imagine. All through April I was holding out until May, and I had a loverly ideal of having a fabulous picnic and then going to Compline (and maybe getting other people to go with me, someday, hint-hint), and now it turns out that the picnic was lovely but I gave up on Compline because I was tired and didn't feel well. I'm listening to it on the radio but I still have that guilty didn't-go-to-church feeling, so haha, this is where my hereditary Catholicism kicks in, is it? ...it's just ending. I love this part...so floating and harmonious and peaceful....
'night everyone. I love you all so much.
