Folklife...it was glorious to hear the mish-mash of musics and smell the eucalyptus oil/fried food/curry smell that is Folklife. It was glorious to see everyone, to wrangle through crowds with hands on shoulders and grabbing wrists and holding hair so we don't get lost; to lie in piles near the whales, to go running about for an hour trying to find Shana, and then to find Shana. Am going back tomorrow. I did get sunburnt but...not terribly so. I can't wait for this summer at the Bathouse. HDM is going to ROCK and Theater Lab is going to be the best ever and Playwriting hopefully will garner me at least one more script. Hurrah!
Rehersal was hilarious. I don't know, maybe it was the heat, but none of us were really taking anything seriously; Talia and I did our catfight and the boys were working out various reactions to it but at least one of us would crack up before we could get anything done. Ben and I ran our scared-in-the-woods scene, but I kept laughing at his "g'dammit, she's not making out with meeeeee" expressions. Finally we just gave up. Sarah wanted Talia to trace the daggers so she could make sheaths, and Ben figured we'd be better off photocopying them--which actually looked pretty nifty. And then we photocopied our heads, and wrote our bios on the back, and sent the whole envelope off to Sarah. It was...really silly. Heh.
Now I am utterly exhausted and my feet hurt and I'm hungry (whine, whine, complain), but D. and I have ordered pizza from Piecora's (mmmm, hurrah!). I have to work on my lit paper tonight; I got an extension until Sunday night but AGH that bloody thing is so frustrating! And I just got two new Physics assignments dumped on me due Thursday, as if needed any more work; I have my history paper due Wednesday and my art paper due...Wednesday as well? Better not be. God. *is doomed*
....I'll see my sisters tomorrow (yay!) and then I am going to utterly disappear off the face of the planet for a week, mmkay? I will probably post annoyed messages about how much work I have just to vent, but feel free to ignore those. Don't expect a lot of commenting or IMing or being ALIVE until after June 9th.
...ta, loves.
one meme for old times's sake:
Six songs that I really enjoy and/or mean a lot to me (not necessarily in that order):
1. Everything's Round - Leftover Salmon
2. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes - CSNY
3. Smoothie Song - Nickel Creek
4. Never Let You Go - Third Eye Blind
5. Chunari Chunari - Mychael Danna (Monsoon Wedding)
6. September in Seattle - Shawn Mullins*
And as usual I refuse to tag anyone. Take it if you want.
* Oh my goodness,
leeann_marie, I listen to this song on repeat so much. I love it, I've no idea why. *grin*
