rain

I am actually really enjoying the rain, except when it drips right down the back of my neck. But that's really what scarves are for. I'm enjoying wearing my beat-up old boots and swishing through puddles; I like the feeling of rain on my head, which is probably why I never wear hats even when I love them. I like the way the air smells when it's raining, all clear and wet and washed open wide. I like that everything, where it isn't gray, has the promise of green--not just the evergreens, although they're looking chipper, but the budding plants are almost ready to come out. I like that we're heading towards breaking a record.

I organized my music last night, and reloaded it all into Real Player, and fixed the messy bits in Creative, and made playlists. Of music that makes me happy. Which reminds me, if anyone has an MP3 of "Walk Like An Egyptian" or "Everything is Round" (by Leftover Salmon), can I steal it?


What also makes me happy is that I started writing a scene the other day--one of those This Came Into My Head, Let's Write moments, which was lovely. I shall try to finish and post it. I think it probably came out of reading Terry Goodkind (ooh, look, another fantasy series to read...).

Any free time this weekend is hereby devoted to writing. And not for school.
