yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
Jul. 11th, 2006 08:24 pmI'm not sure why I feel productive today...I did get some cleaning done in my room, but I didn't do any homework (must get memorizing that stupid skit), and I spent rather a long time just sitting around reading. But for some reason I feel much better than yesterday (it's probably Anneka's fault for talking to me last night). [I am reading Queen's Fool by Philippa Gregory, which is like a romance novel for historically literate people. It's quite fun, and rather amusing, but I keep getting hung up by the fact that she's abusing comma splices like they're the new black. I know it's utterly ridiculous to be caught on that, but every time I see one I want to wince. *is a nerd*]
Tomorrow I am going downtown to investigate temp agencies, which means I have to be up bright and early to take a shower & actually make myself look presentable, wa-hey. Also tomorrow I am taking a hard-hat tour (yay!) of an apartment building on Broadway...which I will probably not take, 'cause it's horrendously expensive, but I'm not going to pass up a chance to take a hard-hat tour of someplace.
Thursday is sailing with Ravenna & Lewis, huzzah! And the last test with this teacher, before we move onto the vast unknown of a new Spanish teacher...
And Friday is Front Page. This week is starting to shape up to be quite as good as last weekend.
The government is being lame about my bonds--I have to pay taxes on the interest even for college, which is stupid, but that's a long story...& at the moment I can't get up the frustration to care, because I am generally too pleased with everything. Considering yesterday, this is rather suprising...but I'm enjoying it.
(Also this icon makes me so happy. Pimptastic Bassanio...oh, the Antonio-Bassanio angst. Ehehe.)
