Will you be my king, Gabe?
Aug. 11th, 2006 05:34 pmThe good: I'm done with Spanish class, finally.
The bad: The open-mic got canceled, by reason of nobody-at-all-ever signing up, so I am disappointed.
The ugly: ...actually, nothing really. Except for the open-mic going the way of the dodo, things are good.
I spent al of half an hour in school today, ten minutes of which was taking the last test. Then I met Allie & we wandered about the UW & the marshes & so forth, which was good. Then off to the Bathhouse, where Kayla & Abbey & I had just about the best techie afternoon we could. We made thrones. And they are some kickass thrones, baby. We stole (borrowed! borrowed with permission! ...actually, really, Shana said so) two of the old dark brown chairs, & cut out large, long pieces of carboard for the backs. Then on with the red velvety stuff, & the gold braid, & Kayla's genius idea to make poufy edges with the batting, which turned out like every genius idea should, which is to say: brilliantly. & we got all muddled up with female/male symbolism, which was funnier than it had any right to be, & Gabe came back to hang with us. Kayla & I spoke a little bit of Spanish--for about two minutes--& at that very moment a very latin man walked by, paused, & said "de donde eres?" & Kayla goes "...soy de Seattle..." & he walked off, looking a little disconcerted. I am very proud of our thrones & I cannot wait to see Macbeth.
And now I have to run off to Danica's.
And it's really weird not having the open-mic. I feel like I suddenly have tons more time, which is silly, but there you go...
