mmm. sibeeeeria.
Aug. 16th, 2006 11:17 pmAh, babysitting is so much easier outside! There's so much more space for their energy. Yesterday they took me blackberry picking, at Magnuson park, which was suprisingly productive for berry picking with two kids. They were really into it, & we got about three quarts in an hour & a bit. We ran into a man from Arizona who was somewhat amazed by the berries here. He asked where the nearest thrift store was, & chatted a bit. The girls told him all about their plans for the blackberries (smoothies & jam), which is actually what they did to every poor person we met on the way.
Suprisingly enough we actually did make smoothies (wow, they like their sugar way too much), & gave some to the cleaning people (who are really hip & interesting. I liked them), & then they made jam.
After that I went to hang with Andy...poor baby, he's all chipmunked & drugged up. I lent him Firefly which should help, as long as he doesn't laugh too much.
& I got to see Melissa, hurrah! We ate dinner (I ate lamb...I think I must have had lamb in Greece but I don't remember it particularly. But this was good. I may have to rethink my stance on meat. Still haven't eaten cow though), & rented the original Ocean's Eleven which was fairly confusing & incomprehensible, though we did make plenty of comments which entertained us.
Today Allie & I made piroshky & Siberian cherry syurp (that's syrup made from Siberian cherries, not a Siberian sort of cherry syrup). Both are exceedingly tasty.
& I went to Brian McDonald's reading of his script, which was incredibly good, & I hope he gets to make the movie soon. I'd go see it.
...& now I am very tired...but tomorrow is Marion McPartland! Cooee.
