well. here i am.
Sep. 12th, 2006 10:34 am[Because I don't think I should let the day pass without noting it--& yet I don't know exactly what to say, much less how to say it--I will steal a link from Esther & point anyone who wants five-year commentary on 9/11 to this--which is what I might have wished to say. Other than that, I can't begin to write, because I'll just ramble & get nowhere right now.]
Yesterday I had a day with my dad--which I gave him as a Christmas present last year, & we finally got around to it. We hung about in Fremont & poked in little shops & things, & then went down to Seattle Center. We saw the Science Fiction Museum--that place is dense!. It's tiny, but there's loads of artefacts & information, including handwritten manuscripts & old robots & costumes from tv shows & movies; a touch-screen to call up various ships & their specs (with a huge screen behind it to show off the ship); a similar thing for various planets, with information voiced by the voice of the Hitchiker's Guide (a pleasant suprise), & tons of other things. We had dinner at the Melting Pot (which I have now gone to more in the past year than should probably be allowed. Now that I'm complaining, mind you. I like this).
And this morning I moved the last few boxes over to the apartment, & I am now sitting on the mezzanine, using the free computer there. I'm moved in. Which means I'm moved out. School starts in eight days. Part of me can't wait for that. Part of me wants to crawl into a small space & hide. I think it's like this every year...
PS-- Does anyone want to see Carbon Leaf perform for free tonight, 6pm, Tower Records by Seattle Center? Call my cell. I'm going.
