pipistrellafelix: (reading)
I ate breakfast with Rachel this morning, for the first time since December. It was good to catch up with her, complaining about rent & looking for apartments, talking about classes & major requirements, chatting about people--mundane stuff, comforting stuff. (Plus the food at that restaurant is fabulous.)
Anneka cellphone-ambushed me on the bus home, & I met up with her & Gabe & Abbey & Kayla at Pacific Place--a breath of Bathhouse love which was beautiful to have. We milled around in a frighteningly expensive store at which Kayla had credit, & then at the Body Shop, which is why I now smell sort of overpoweringly of...smell. Scented stuff. The peach isn't bad though.
I just miss people. I miss everybody. Does it make sense to miss people even while you're with them?

Hey, everyone. Who wants to watch me potentially a) make a fool of myself b) become a reality theater star c) all of the above? Yeah, I thought you would. Here's the deal:

I may have told you about this already, maybe not. I'm probably not pimping myself out enough, as it were, but oh well--there's a new show at Theater Schmeater, called 'Triple Threat.' It's a semi-improv show similar to the tv show 'So You Think You Can Dance' but for acting & singing as well. (So You Think You Can Be On Broadway.) Every night eight actors perform, & it goes like this:
Act 1: Each actor auditions with a monologue, a song, & a movement piece. They're critiqued by a panel of Seattle-area musical theater types. After everyone goes, the audience votes; 2 men & 2 women, by those votes, are the finalists for...
Act 2: Each finalist sings a callback song (from a new musical being written), & performs two cold readings. The panel then judges one winner from the final four.
But, get this--you can be in it too! Bring a headshot & resume & put your name down when you get there, & you could be chosen to audition in Act 1 too. And/or just come & cheer for me, & Kelley too, 'cause we're performing the same night.
When is that night, you ask? Why, here:
Friday, Sept. 29th. 11:30 pm, Theater Schmeater, which is at 1500 Summit Ave. Tickets are $12, but if you're under 18, it's free! (Just bring ID.) THIS is the TicketWindow link to buy tickets.
So come. I'm not sure whether to tell you to vote for me, so I can be all called back & cool & stuff, or whether to say don't vote for me, so I won't have to sing the callback song, which frankly terrifies me & not in the good way. I'll leave that up to your discretion.

Pass this along, y'all know the drill--& if you can't make it that night, go a different night, 'cause it's going to be a great show whoever's onstage.
