Hey, look what New Jersey did: "New Jersey's highest court rules that same-sex couples are entitled to the same rights as heterosexual couples." Now the legislature has to rewrite the laws to conform to what the court said, within 180 days--more like Vermont than Massachusetts, but still quite a victory. NPR tells all.

You know what else is good today? I got home at 6:45 today. Six forty five. I get to cook dinner & eat it at a more or less normal time! This is thrilling! Also Andrew & I worked our last love scene (or rather he-loves-me-&-I'm-going-okay, okay, fine scene) with Ki today & she was suprisingly encouraging & uncritical. It was refreshing.

And just to conclude with something else wonderful, Wired magazine's six-word sci-fi stories: begun by Ernest Hemingway with his shortest (& so he says best) story: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." Wired got a bunch of authors to write new ones.... here's some of my favorites:

Machine. Unexpectedly, I’d invented a time
- Alan Moore

From torched skyscrapers, men grew wings.
- Gregory Maguire

It cost too much, staying human.
- Bruce Sterling

I’m dead. I’ve missed you. Kiss … ?
- Neil Gaiman

The baby’s blood type? Human, mostly.
- Orson Scott Card

& the rest...

(I really want to write some now. There are several people on my f-list who started memes based on this & I want to join in, but dinner & then homework calls. This weekend I'll write a whole pack of 'em.)
