Today was rehearsal--watching glorious magic happen onstage & gadding about the edges of some of it myself, & then poking through the costumes, finding jackets and dresses (both good and hideous) and Emily & I losing control utterly over the most foul furry boot I have ever seen.
& after rehearsal (& me being stupid about buses & intersections, although my stupidity meant I got to ride the bus with Joel instead of alone), I managed to get to West Seattle & spent the evening with Melissa. We baked an extraordinary cake (chocolate & spice & candied lemon & orange peel if you must know) & ate an incredibly tasty dinner with her family, & watched Night at the Museum. (My parents were right. It's ridiculous & silly--but actually quite well done & really enjoyable. Plus it's based on one of my pet fantasies--statues & etc coming to life--so I liked it.)
Oh, chronology doesn't work at all. This feels boring & stupid. I've been feeling vaguely boring & stupid myself, or maybe stagnant, I don't know. There's no reason why. I have absolutely nothing to complain about, but I still want something I haven't got. (Adventure, I guess. Maybe tomorrow if my plans with Nikki fall through I'll go to SAM. I haven't seen the new SAM yet. It's an adventure, of a sort.)
Also I find myself wanting to write things I really shouldn't write, by which I mean things that are blatant rip offs of other things. Fanfiction of a sort I guess. I have itchy fingers, but not the way I want them.
(ETA: I'm watching Pride & Prejudice to keep me company. Georgiana makes me think of Thomasina. I like her.)
