So I'm mostly finished with my acting paper (just one more bit to go, which I emailed my teacher about since her directions are confusing). I have two more to go for these midterm papers, which I really need to get mostly done before Wednesday arrives, because I know for a fact that I will do precisely nothing on these papers while Joel is here.

But oh my god. I have two of the lamest prompts I have ever seen. For Devising, she wrote this:
"At the center of physical theater lies a desire to make theater that reaches beyond realism, theater which challenges the idea hat a singly authored text is primarily what constitutes a 'play', theater which resists naturalistic approaches to performance, theater where the spoken word is regarded as just one element of the performance idiom." & then asked us to discuss that in light of the work of a list of theater practictioners that she provided (two of which she misspelled), none of which we have ever really been exposed to.

For voice he gave us a quote from someone: "Compared to British dialects which are predominantly about pitch, many north American dialects have a wonderful respect and vibrancy in their use of vowels" -- Andrew Wade & asked us to discuss, & to say whether that has impacted our enjoyment of the poems we have studied.

I mean. Fluff. But not even easy fluff. Just WTF fluff. Argh.

On the other hand, I took a break from all this papering to go see Atonement with Cozy & Bri & Nora. And it is SO gorgeous, & sad, but beautiful in every way, & the sound & sound editing is just phenomenal. Go see this one in a theater just for the sound quality. Just listen. It's incredible.
