Hello, world....it's been a little while.
Jul. 22nd, 2008 11:01 amI feel like if I do a full update on my life this thing would be pages & pages long.
1. Right now I'm sitting in the basement at home "working," by which I mean trying to call people for this insurance company, which is far more difficult than it ought to be given that I can't really leave messages since I don't want applicants to be calling me at all hours of the day. Of course most people use cellphones nowadays & so I'm getting confused calls from people saying they missed a call from this number, which I guess is more or less the same.
I'm going into Redmond tomorrow; this is way easier in the office.
3. I really, really, desperately want Theo's to call me & tell me they're hiring me. DESPERATELY. Because that's the job I really want, & would be so suited for it's not even funny. Plus then I could work full-time there & not do this calling job. Which I don't like. PLEASE, THEO'S. You know you want me.
4. Theater:
This weekend I opened Alice (come see! Sat/Sun 2pm, till August 10th, Volunteer Park, FREE!) which went beautifully, & it's a really fun show. I have to say I really like wandering about in costume taking money from people & talking to small children in a silly accent. Maybe I should do this acting thing more often. Haha.
Also this weekend was the opening of Eight to One (come see! Fri/Sat, 7pm, 737 Belmont Place E, FREE!), which was highly stressful but pretty darn awesome all around, mostly because it actually happened & there are few things more exciting than having a project actually work. People came, & we did the shows, & they all went off nearly fine (excepting injuries from glass, which let's please not do again) & we even had a discussion on opening night. Awesome.
5. I saw Dark Knight. OH MY GOD. It was SO GOOD. Especially the Joker, especially, nothing else even touched how amazingly, creepily, hilariously nightmarish Heath Ledger was. "I'm going to make this pencil disappear....ta-da!" If you haven't seen it, go. It's worth it just to watch the acting in that performance. (& yeah...it's sad. I nearly cried at the credits. But good lord, what work he did! Given all of the hype, I feel it was truly impressive that for much of the movie, I forgot that it was Heath Ledger, & just watched the Joker. Yeah, he was that good.)
6. Theo's PLEASE CALL ME. I'm dying here.
7. Still working on organizing my room...I have far too many things in my life. I think I'm going to have a garage sale. Goody!
...& back to work, I suppose. Break's over. I need to see people. I have been in a very specific world, mostly because of last week (Alice + Eight to One + training = two casts & a Redmond business office), & I need to break out a little. Tea, anyone?
