I have been depressed & frustrated & stressed out my ears lately, so I think it is good that I do one of these Things I Love Thursdays even if it's a short one before bed. Getting the brain back on track.
* Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor. 'Nuff said. :D
* The IG cast & crew, who are consistently awesome & are doing incredible work even while I am muddling through this directing thing I am doing. Truly fantastic, & you know I mean it!
* Making latkes with Philip: onions & potatoes, debating correct grater use, & generally getting to see an old friend (a really, really old friend, O ancient one!) which was lovely.
There will be more guerrilla dinner parties....with more notice, so we can have big ones. Yes. :)
* Patricia C. Wrede; I am re-reading old fantasy novels from childhood & she is one of my favorites. Yesterday I ran across a note I wrote to myself on the title page of Mairelon the Magician when I was probably about eleven, to the effect of "my mom says my writing is like hers! like patricia c. wrede's that is." I like this for several reasons, not least of which is that I was worried about correcting my modifiers when I was eleven.
* Getting trained at a job for a theater! This still thrills me. Also, even though Anna, Diane & Patrick tell me I will come to hate it, I am in the honeymoon phase of learning how SPT's software works & guys, it does awesome, organizational OCD-gratifying things! I'm sure I will come to hate it in, oh, give it eight days, but the mere fact that I am working for a theater officially makes me tickled pink.
* Aerial, as usual. I have to skip class again this weekend for Gelosi tech, but I am determined to work out doubly to make up for it. I am going to kick ass at this. It is so much fun. Did I mention I learned how to hang upside down inside the hoop holding myself up with my ankles and thighs only? Yeah. Simonne calls it "pain training." I love it.
