Things I Love Thursday - short edition
Jul. 1st, 2010 10:09 pm* World Cup Soccer! I do not love waking up at 5am tomorrow (eeeeugh), but I am so super excited to go to Fado Pub and watch Holland TRASH Brazil! At least, this is my hope. In any case, Patrick and I are going to have a fabulous time (and I will drink lots and lots of tea to wake up, crikey).
* My show! Greetings from Styx. We are such a ragtag group, and it's so much fun to play around with these people. We have a blanket spread out backstage (er, on the grass behind the play space) with so many percussive, silly sound instruments, and we're doing ridiculous sound effects. Yesterday we did a photo shoot, which involved the girls making fools of themselves over the bull puppet, everyone posing with instruments, all of us walking up the hill hand in hand (in what I hope is a totally epic shot) and the boys without shirts (because none of them had gotten the memo about wearing black and white. What? Being naked is very greek).
* Doctor Who. Season Finale: GORGEOUS. Oh, so fairytale beautiful. My mom managed to miss nearly all of S5, so we're rewatching it, which only makes me love this entire season even more. Oh yes.
* Sun! And it would be nice if we could get more of it...
* ACT! Guess what, everyone--I'm ACT's new literary intern! Er, literary intern apprentice, anyway; Elspeth is training me throughout July. And it's going to be super!
* Fresh berries - from the garden! Oh delicious. It's been dark and soggy summertime, sadly, so there's not as many and it's not as easy to harvest them all; but mmmm fresh strawberries are so tasty.
* Summer Season at SPT--it's begun! And now I have a good Monday routine, and we're starting to make awesome youth theater. I'm honestly really looking forward to seeing all the shows this summer--they are going to be wonderful.
Bits & bobs: My new green dress; the fact that there is a BANJO in our play; sweet tea vodka lemonades; www.grooveshark.com; 4th of July fireworks and party; ukuleles; the Harry Potter 7 trailer; swings at the park!
