Oct. 4th, 2004 11:57 amIt's interesting how when one's internet is down for the weekend one realizes how much one feels like one needs it--but really doesn't.
I need to go to the library, I have jazz cds waiting (hurrah!).
Weekend was good--Nightmare Before Christmas with Naka, Charlotte and Patrick (Naka falling asleep, Patrick watching all the drunk gay guys on Capitol Hill); going back to Charlotte's house and trying to watch Newsies but they fell asleep. We watched Moulin Rouge in the morning.
I went home on Saturday afternoon...that was nice. A little weird. I realized how much I actually have settled into SU as my new home now, even though it's still a little itchy and doesn't fit right yet--going home was like putting on the old sweater that does fit but you haven't worn in a while. A little odd. But nice. And I ate at home and they made chicken-bean casserole which is one of the utter staples of my childhood and made me full up and warm. And then I came back to my new home and hung out in my room and Gwen and Danica were there having a cd burning party, and then Adam and Tara showed up and we ate apples and caramel sauce and Adam asked impertinent and personal questions, which was amusing. He is a very, very odd boy. Interesting. But odd.
Sunday I actually did work...read the Apology (which I love) and some of the Aeneid (which I don't like as much as the Odyssey). Long conversations about whether Socrates was guilty or not...contextual corruption and all that. I may write something on that later.
Blast. I have to write a biography for Jo...does anyone want to write my bio for me? I'll be interested to see how that one would turn out.
Also this afternoon is the ultimate frisbee game, haha! I shall remember my great triumphs from middle school and cream them all! Well. Maybe not. I'm still looking forward to it though.
This morning I ate breakfast with Kareem and Michelle and Tara. Breakfast with people. There's an idea. And Kareem really wants to see I Love Huckabees so we're going to go--because it looks fabulous. Haha...
I've been wanting to draw...I really wish I had an art class. Really I do.
Also I saw Ocean's Eleven last night and it was fabulous. (They're making a sequel--Ocean's Twelve, obviously--and Eddie Izzard is in it. I told that to Gwen and she went, Who? So now I have to introduce her to the wonders of the Izzard.)
Lunchtime. Food is good. (I found a soy yogurt they sell at the cafeteria that actually tates good and now I'm hooked.)
