Hokay, so, here's the earth; it's chillin'; damn, you are thinking, I'd better find myself some theater this summer. Well, have no fear...for the offical email/lj-post is here.
(All you HDM people...feel free to utterly ignore this post, unless you want to steal it and post it elsewhere.)
What: "His Dark Materials" by Nicholas Wright, based on the novels by Philip Pullman (yez, this is the one they did at the National Theater in London); Part I directed by Jena Cane, Part II by Shana Bestock
Part I is performed by the 9-13 yr-old students, Part II by the 14-18'ers. (Both are fabulous, and I can say that officially.)
Where: At Seattle Public Theater at the Bathhouse Theater on Greenlake, 7312 W Greenlake Drive N, ph.# 206.524.1300
When: Part I performs:
July 16, 17, 23, 24 at 2pm
Part II performs:
July 16, 17, 22, 23, 24 at 7pm (there is a Friday 22nd show, but Part I does not have one)
Cost: Free! Of course, donations are always greatly appreciated, and go right back into supporting the Youth Program at SPT (which is a really good cause! *plug, plug*)
Why: Because it's wonderful; because it's theater in the summer; because these kids are awesome and deserve big audiences; and because you know you love me and want to make me happy by coming to see it.
So, come on over to beautiful Greenlake on a summer weekend and catch a show, grab dinner and catch another one! Please pass the word on to your friends, your enemies, and anyone else you may know; the more people know about this, the better, of course.
I hope to see you there! If you come, be sure to grab me and say hi after the show (before the show, I will most likely be running about like a mad gosling; but afterward I do want to see you all!).
