Yesterday was a lovely day in the park...Allie & I drove over with my parents (by which I mean my parents drove), & found Maggie, & then met up with Heather & Melissa's parents. Melissa & Hoy (now I have met him! & I very much approve!) & Hoy's dad showed up, & we found Joel in the Midsummer crowd* and we all sprawled, with a ridiculous amount of food, on the grass to watch Theater Schmeater's Robin Hood. It was silly, but very entertaining...lots of singing, lots of fighting, several cool costumes & several silly ones.
& the picnic! My lord! It was a vast spread of scrumptious goodness! This has really got to happen more often. I know a lot of people with really good taste in food.
& then we splashed about in the kiddie pool & played frisbee and played with leaves & water drains ("Hey, look! Physics in action!" -"Come check it out, we're testing centrifugal force!") & played about on the weird white sculpure in the playground.
I think I am running away to join the circus with Allie. Well, maybe next summer. But anything called "Crique de Flambe" is good by me.
Compline was also amazing...I'd forgotten how calming and uplifting it is to just sit quietly for half an hour & listen to beautiful music. I really must start going again.
& now I have actual assigned homework for Spanish (agh), so I should get on that. Eeep.
* Philip, I meant to say, but did not, that your bit with the hot lantern was hilarious. Your mechanicals group is really fabulously funny.
