Jan. 4th, 2007 02:23 pmThis morning I completely changed my history topic. & not, say, from one play to another, or even from Shakespeare to Marlowe. Nope. I've gone far far back, & am poking about books on Margaret of Anjou to find ideas & create questions based on the relationship between the king, queen, & parliament. Especially the queen & parliament. We'll see how this goes. I am, however, far more pleased with this topic than the one before, so there's hope yet.
Also Anne Wagner is in town! Andrew & I ran into her walking down the upper mall & there was much happiness. I'm going to call her later. & at lunch there was a meeting for the radio show (more info coming; y'all can listen, on the internet, to me making a fool of myself & playing broadway music on Sunday mornings).
I had class this morning with Cozy & Kristyn & Casey--stagemanagement, which I think should be, um...easy. Three of the major requirements are to a) attend a rehearsal of As You; b)attend a tech rehearsal of As You; & c) attend a performance of As You. (Oh dear, Dave Moon.* I do not think I will be able to do this. Woe is I. & sarcastic is I, too.)
{*Dave Moon is the tech man for the Lee Center & our teacher & one of those people about whom it is impossible to talk without using both names. He can't be Mr. Moon. He can't be Dave, although under other circumstances he would be a first-name sort of teacher. But my head persists in calling him DaveMoon, nearly all one word. It's like MichaelBaker, except that I like Dave Moon.}
Rehearsal last night was fun--our director is crazy as ever, but, as far as I can tell so soon, really, really fabulously amazing. Touchstone is going to be ridiculous; the set will be more incredible than I can say; & the entire second half of the play, in Arden, we get to be barefoot. Yes.
...so I guess everything is settling into the way it's supposed to be, more or less; the less being something that I shouldn't start writing about now, because I have research, & because I don't want to talk about it here. ...I should go find that book.
