As Sam Gamgee would say...
Mar. 11th, 2007 06:34 pmI'm back from Chicago.
I don't really know how to describe this weekend except by events, which don't really give a good sense of how good of a weekend it was. But in any case, there was an awesome play, and meeting of much theater people (who really are a species, or maybe a genus; they're certainly a family anyway); there was poking about U(c) campus, & wow I am jealous because the architecture is so much more fabulous (read: stony & gothic) than mine; there was the Field Museum, there was playing Wii and making breakfast in the living room with Joel's roommates when the kitchen power went out; there was striking for hours & cast parties, & above all & everything, there was simply being with Joel, about which I can say nothing that can possibly express it properly, except maybe the realization that I had last night, that the reason I don't care at all about my birthday this year is that this was the great grand event that I had been looking forward to for what felt like forever. (And I'm not just saying that because he'll read it...)
I almost completely ignored my schoolwork, which I am now about to tackle. The parents took me for dinner tonight, which was nice as I didn't have to cook (plus tasty food). My computer is misbehaving still, but I have a Master Evil Plan to use Best Buy to my advantage, so we'll see how that goes. & that's about all...
