I am terrifically far behind on the work I should be doing this weekend. I did hardly anything today. I have no excuse (well, I have a couple, one being my dad's birthday party & one being laid low by cramps, but neither are really valid for being totally lazy anyway). So, I'm stupid, and should really work my ass off tomorrow. Blech.

I am okay with it all, I just have to buckle down & do it--except for one thing: Directing. Preparing for my next rehearsal is simply terrifying--like the worst case of writer's block, except I'm not staring at a blank page, I'm staring at a script, and two actors, and I don't know what to do. I'm sure analysis will help, so I'll have a little something to go off of, but here's where I start to ask for help.

Specifically Bathhousians, since I'm thinking of Shana, but anyone who's ever worked under a great director:

How did they begin? What did they start to work on first? What kinds of work did they do to jump-start the whole affair?
