the elf name game
Oct. 13th, 2009 01:46 pmOkay, all you smart people. I am now a part of the Seattle Sugarplum Elves & this entails, first of all, picking a name, which is also essentially your Elf Alter Ego. & thusly very important! Anybody want to help?
The Name Game:
First of all, I can't be named anything that an elf is already named, which cuts out the following: Blinky, Dizie, Two Shoes, Tootsie, Roxie, Stripes, Schprintzel, Sprinkles, Pumpkin, Sugar, Inky, Topsy, Lolly, Luz, Honey, Spanky and Knick-Knack (a.k.a. the Paddywhack sisters), Salty, Tinsel, Button, Winky, Tickles, Zipper, Puddles, Mistletoe, Giggles, Short Stop, Figgy, Snowflake, Dreamy, Sneaky, Ginger, Lixie the Pixie. (There are a lot of elves among all the branches!)
Secondly, Talia offers this:
-Words that aren't typically "names" are generally good (you'll notice a particularly sugary-cookiey theme to lots of the names)
-Something you can build a character around is great (Lolly hands out lollypops, Stripes is a sporty elf, Inky wrote impromptu poetry)
Thoughts!
* Someone suggested Pocket Elf, which I find hilarious & is actually on the list for consideration.
Other ideas:
*Puppet (I could make & hand out little finger puppets!)
*Cider
*Cinnamon
*Clove
*Holly
*Trixie (which is cute but also with the connotation of tricks, as in mischief, or Trixie Belden the Girl Detective from the 40s which I am pretty into)
*Franken-elf (as in Dr. Frankenstein, Mad Inventor Elf) --> maybe Doctor? Doc Elf? :) *Brassy, Goggles--a Steampunk Elf--any better name ideas? (& no, I'm not going to be Steamy Elf.)
Righto....I have a feeling if I keep going this will just get sillier. Time to mull these over & get to work. If anyone has any ideas, silly or not, throw 'em out there...cookies to anyone who comes up with a name I use.
Okay, cookies to anyone anyway...I love making cookies. <3
