Happy November, all!
I have a good feeling about this month, I really do. & I'm gonna make sure that good feeling sticks around, whatever I have to do to make this shindig work. So there.
I have missed several Things I Love Thursdays, so I'm going to make a general Things I'm Looking Forward To In November/Things That Are Going Well:
First: MOVEMBER!
Essentially, gentlemen register to help fight prostate & testicular cancer by shaving off their facial hair & then growing awesome mustaches in the month of November. Perez's dad has cancer, and so he started a team to raise donations for research. We're on the site as The Illyrians, & you can donate to me & my team here: http://us.movember.com/mospace/233019/

2. NaNoWriMo--yep, I'm doing it, for the first time. I have only a vague idea of how the story is going, I'm not sure that my protaganist has any character whatsoever, but I know it's about ghosts & weird stuff & that gives me plenty to play with! Plus a giant dog, so, it's hard to go wrong.
I have been working really hard to quash my inner editor (yesterday she insisted that I switch to first-person & I slaughtered that idea, mostly becuase, well, you DON'T EDIT DURING NANO). I think it's going all right--it's a matter of reminding myself, constantly, that the point is to get words on page. That is all. Keep the story moving, get the words down, get things happening, don't look back. I can edit this shit (& yes, some of it is) later. & I'm having fun!

3. I have an audition tonight for Arcadia, and a job interview this afternoon for a SM job at Nathan Hale...theater is happening! I am excited about this.
4. Elving--Shoelace Elf is knitting & sewing & singing & ready to get going on a Holiday rampage of joy, you bet. Our meetings have started & we're prepping for the season. It's all kind of messy, but good. I'm still in that hang-back slightly phase of being in a new group, but they're all super nice and welcoming, & I know it's going to be tons of fun.
I'll post here whenever we have a public event, so y'all can come support the elves.
5. Old friends, too--last night Perez & I went to Colleen's new place and met up with her, Rashad and Katie. We didn't really do anything, but it was so great to spend time with people I know really well and make stupid jokes and tell stories and be ridiculous. And eat pie.
Right...back to work for now. November = a good month. It will be. I can taste it!
