Things I Love Thursday! Which would probably make more sense if I were a more regular poster, but whatever. It's always good to write down things I love and am happy for, especially when I have been in a bit of a funk. Thus, in no particular order:

* Being a part of awesome new theater! Via Chris I essentially fell into working with Keira, who runs the Solo Performance Festival (now in it's 4th year), which is exactly what it sounds like. We had a scheduling meeting to put together the line-up last night. It's really exciting--I had only a vague knowledge of this thing two months ago & now suddenly I'm part of the inner circle of producers, in a way. Mostly that way involves meeting with Keira & emailing various people (like Nancy Pearl!) & helping to organize things & drinking lots of tea, but so far that is all awesome. & I feel...important, like I'm helping to produce something that matters, which is always a good feeling.

* Snarky theater people, vis a vis: Last night, talking about one performer: "I mean, do you want to see him do a piece?" -- "NO. I had a hard enough time watching him usher." (I pretty much died.)

* The fact that Nathan Hale's musical that I am SMing is Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. WHAT. I am SO THRILLED about this! It's one of my favorite musicals, and it's one that I'm fairly certain I can listen to a million times over and not be entirely sick of. (I might have quit if they'd chosen Andrew Lloyd Weber. I'm just saying.)

* New aerial spaces! Today after ASMing for Santaland I'm going over to Versatile Arts to be evaluated, which sounds all scary but I don't think will be. They have open gym times at the Cathedral (what they call their aerial space) & if I pass the can-you-do-this-without-supervision test, I can go practice aerial whenever I want. YES.

* Hilarious & wonderful compliments from random people on the street. While sitting outside TOJ last night waiting for the meeting, a couple men walked by talking in Spanish, & one said to me, "hey, muchacha, you look like Mona Lisa!" I said thanks, & he added, "your boyfriend ever gives you problems, you tell him the man said you looked like Mona Lisa in Chinatown!" Something about his phraseology and how cheerfully he said it made me really happy. Muchas gracias, Mona Lisa Man.

* NaNo. Which is kicking my ass & I'm behind on it, but--it's making me write. And with several revisions, the story I'm cranking out wouldn't be half bad.

* Also: Castle (oh geez, how much do I love that show); the fact that holiday elving starts soon; the amount of shoelaces I'm putting on my elf costume (a lot); hot water bottles (every. single. night); upcoming house-sitting & dog-sitting time; Lady Gaga (I have become obsessed, what the hell! Particularly Bad Romance, which will not leave my brain).
