Things I Love Thursday
Dec. 10th, 2009 11:43 am* Finally starting to use my body again. I went to the Hip-Hop class Perez has been going to on Tuesday night & oh god I hurt. Also, I have basically no hip-hop rhythm. Like, none. Which makes me feel really terrible in one way (I mean, I know I'm the whitest mutt girl ever & pretty much my only claim to non-caucasian fame is a 1/32nd part Cherokee something somewhere, but I'm also a dancer & I manage Latin stuff fine & this is ridiculous) but also pretty good in another way(essentially, fuck this I don't care I'm just having fun!). And it was fun. And also we did crunches and warm ups, and did I mention that I hurt? I really hurt so much that I considered this morning not going to aerial tonight, but...
* Aerial. Yeah, I'm getting to the point where it's just fucking hard a lot of the time instead of gloriously awesome, but it's still fab. And I am determined. Yes.
* The Seattle Sugarplum Elves! (We have a website: sugarplumelves.com!) I love the fun costumes, I love the singing and dancing and how we're pushing ourselves (weird harmony lines, y'all), I love that we get to perform with the Holiday Bizarre boys, I love being able to squeal and not feel like a dork about it, and most of all I love all the new ladies I've met in this group. It's a blast, even when it's effing freezing outside.
* Christmassy things. Yes, I'm one of those silly children who loves Christmas--I love the twinkly lights & the evergreen everywhere and the hot chocolate and decorated cookies and cheer. & I guess this all goes along with the Sugarplum Elves too, but it's just so cheery.
* The fact that people are coming back to Seattle soon! Oh my goodness--I am SO thrilled to see people!
* This purple sweatshirt I'm wearing. Istole borrowed it from Perez with every intention of returning it but I just haven't yet. It is a) stupidly comfortable, b) really warm for a sweatshirt that's been worn a lot & c) feels like getting a hug (which is related to a whole other post that isn't a part of TiLT that I'll do later.)
Other bits: The Directing One-Acts Last night, the Secret Santa party coming up soon, tea (of course), my wool socks I've started wearing, how gorgeous the weather has been (albiet cold), my ceramic heater that keeps my room all toasty, making crafty things for presents, my friends being happy, Display and Costume (yes the entire store).
