Things I Love Thursday
Jan. 28th, 2010 04:07 pmBecause I need it, since I'm feeling not so great at the moment.
* Aerial--I need to keep reminding myself that I love it, because it's getting hard, especially since I took time off during the holidays and lost a good chunk of my strength. But! I do love it, it's amazing, and I'm determined.
* Doctor Who. Oh geez. It's one of those giddy teenager I should be ashamed of how I much I love this but I'm not because it's so brilliant loves. I utterly adore everything to do with this show. I'm just two specials behind everyone else and I swear I could write an essay, or several, on how beautiful this show is.
* Friends: cuddlepuddles, late night blathering, phone calls, cuddling, fighting through problems, being perfectly clear that you are important no matter what, planning grand adventures, talking about nerdy things...I love them all.
*Being productive: making the website work prettily, categorizing things, prepping stuff for SMing, getting papers cleared and off my desk. Doing useful things and feeling properly useful about it.
* Knitting and knitting comissions!
leeann_marie is making me armwarmers and I'm really thrilled about the whole idea. I think I will even try to make a pair myself, but as a backup for practice because I know hers will be far more lovely. Also in this category is the giant long Tom-Baker-as-the-Doctor scarf that I'm knitting out of all the scrap yarn I can find in my yarn basket. It's about as long as I am tall, and I'm still going strong! (The fact that I mostly knit it while I watch Doctor Who or Torchwood probably means something, but I couldn't possibly tell you what, except that, clearly, I'm obsessed.)
*Good and simple food: Avocadoes. Dried papaya. Peanuts. Warm winter casseroles. Homemade potato leek soup. Hot chocolate. 'Nuff said.
* Bad pop and hip hop music--I've been listening to it all the time at work now. The dance beats make filing and data entry so much more entertaining. Lady Gaga, Britney, Madonna, Kanye, and everything stemming from that in Pandora. All ridiculous and all beautiful.
Right. I should make these lists more. Remembering that even when various things are just plain stupid, that doesn't mean that everything is. Off to aerial!
