Gearing up for Summer! Sort of.
Mar. 17th, 2010 10:19 amHello LJ world! I'm cheerier now than I was the last time I was here. I am also in to work earlier today than many other days in the past few weeks, yikes.
Let's see...at work I am registering kids for spring break camps and summer classes, lots and lots of them. Plus we are getting into the auction season, oh lord...for me right now it's mostly just entering auction items into TI, but soon it will be many many other various and sundry things and I will probably end up working overtime in late April.
And what makes it evenbetter worse more hilarious is that late April is also when we start teching for Nathan Hale, and SPT's auction is the Sunday of opening weekend of the musical. Oh my lives crash into each other! Geez. Essentially, after about April 5th, I am going to MIA for everyone except my work and my other work. So that'll be fun.
But until then it's going pretty smoothly so far. What else am I thinking about ALL the time now....?
ASHLAND!!! ASHLAND OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL!
Anna, Patrick and I are going down to Ashland this weekend, leaving late Thursday night and returning Sunday evening. I cannot wait! I'm super thrilled to get out of Seattle for a while, and to go to a town I adore, and see really good theater, and spend tons of time with two of my favorite people in the world.
Coincedentally I am listening to Weekday on KUOW, and there's a correspondent talking about Ashland right now! He is giving Hamlet a big thumbs up which I am super thrilled about. Props to the production--"unusually clear", to Hamlet, Ophelia, and Claudius especially. Oh goody goody. I love Hamlet when it's done right (and when it's done wrong it makes me want to punch things), so I'm really looking forward to it.
So--we're seeing that, and also Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (which is also getting a real good review from this radioman) and Well, about which I know just a little bit, but am really excited because it sounds bizarre and meta and awesome.
Also, on Sunday Patrick and I are tootling around Portland while Anna visits friends, so if y'all have any ideas of things we must do, let me know...
Right. Back to work, and trying not to think about Ashland. Too much, anyway.
