.....hello, world!
Jul. 11th, 2008 11:20 pmGood lord, I haven't posted here in a long time. My life, in sort-of-list form...for the last week or so:
-Tonight I soaked in a bath. And read a book. It was awesome. That's all.
-Fourth of July rocked...some people went over to Cozy's house-siting abode (John K's place, which is wonderful and adorable & has two dogs and a cat there), and we cooked & made a ridiculous amount of food. There was eating all day & lounging in the hammock and talking with good friends & it was pretty much perfect. Glorious.
- I got the job in Redmond, but training got postponed due to my nearly-boss having jury duty. So I go in this week. I also got a call from Theo's Chocolate (I want I want I want I want!), where I went for an interview today! Eeek. Now I'm trying to balance both...vaguely not quitting Insurance Girl before I hear back from Theo's (where I'd get to be Retail Girl and Tour Girl! For the best company ever). So we'll see...crossing my fingers, metaphorically, a lot.
- Alice is going well...we have a "performance" tomorrow for the Outdoor Theater Festival, but please don't come. Haha. We're considering it a dress rehearsal/preview, since we really don't open till next weekend....but it's the silliest group of people (& the nuttiest play) & I'm having loads of fun with three different accents and imaginary flamingos and ears that won't stay on my head. Brilliant.
-Detective Fiction = best class ever. Today I read Nancy Drew. And finished Nancy Clue / Cherry Aimless, the lesbian satire. We read detective novels. And talk about them. It doesn't get much better than that, really.
- & what's taking up plenty of time is the Eight to One project--actually ridiculously exciting because it's really happening. Andrew, Elspeth & Wes wrote plays, & I, Elspeth & Andrew are directing them (respectively), & it all goes up in Andrew's backyard next weekend & the one after that. The play I'm directing has only three characters, & I cast three actors I never met before, all of whom rock my planet (Traci, a few years older than me, I think went to Cornish; Alice, older lady, has done lots of opera; Michael, elderly gentleman with the most charmingly bizarre attitude and best voice ever). I feel like I did on some days with R&G--like I'm doing very little directing, just sort of noting and nudging and changing some blocking to make it look better & saying "yes, go for that, it's a great idea," a lot. But so far it's working out fabulously, so I'm not complaining. :)
What else....not a lot. My room is still a disaster area from being moved back into. I miss the apartment like mad. Living at home is okay, so far (whenever I am home, which is apparently rare with the amount of things I'm doing at the moment)...I really like not paying for groceries and laundry, haha. I do miss living above ground, though. Kind of a lot. I'm thinking I'm not going to live in basements anymore, after this year...I'll make it a personal goal. Kind of like doing the splits and learning how to juggle.
