Renaissance Girl

So I've decided to pick up the fiddle (not the violin; been there, done that, I need more excitement in my life). I have a violin now, on indefinete loan from a friend. I finally picked it up the other day & set bow to string--

I have forgotten nearly everything; I don't remember how to read music or what notes make what noises, or even what notes the strings are--

but I haven't forgotten how to hold it, and I haven't forgotten how to make the notes happen, & I will tell you right now, whoever is supposed to own this instrument is never getting it back because it is the most gorgeous and beautiful-sounding lady on earth.

I, of course, am doing it about enough justice to fill a teaspoon. But I'm working on it. I am. I've toyed with the idea for years, but all those violin lessons in elementary school were painful, & I hated them...but this time, I think it might be for real.

(My plan: play it on the streets of Dublin. Be worthy enough! I'll get there.)
