+ Research continues apace! There is a pile of books on the table, I have written about a page of scribbly-verse of Loki, Seth & Izrafil introducing themselves, & am about to head to the library for more books. (Predictably, Perez is ahead of me, already having more music than I have lyrics for, but I'll catch up. I hope. Ha!)

+ I dropped & broke an entire gallon of milk outside Trader Joe's today, causing me to feel terrible, & causing Perez to actually say to me in a literal situation, "don't cry over spilt milk!"

+ My dad showed me these videos on Youtube the other day, & they are, pretty much, the best thing ever: Eddie Izzard animated in legos. Eddie talks, the legos move. It is amazing.

Romans, Carthaginians & Elephants:

+ several more! )

Right! Off to the library.

I used to be really, really into the Kentucky Derby for a few years--I'd follow it in the sports pages of the Times, & religiously watch it every year. I haven't in a while, & this year I have no idea who's even running, but man I am excited for it anyway! I really do adore horses.

Also I wrote a whole paper this morning, & am just typing up the WC page...I feel very productive about that. I should be leaving now to go work on my design project, but I got the derby time wrong (it's an hour from now), & I want to wait & see it. Man, I'm dorky.

Also I ate pie for lunch. Hmm. Not so healthy. Heh.

...I really haven't written much up here. I don't know. Usually I do...now I just feel sort of disconnected from here, from myself, from people. It's a little weird. Oddly enough it made for a great show last night--I didn't at all feel in character, but I felt like everything I did was in character and that it read all very well. Which I guess makes sense, in a weird way.

Am still watching derby preshow. God, but horses are beautiful. I want them!

So today we found out that since our voice teacher (his name is Cathal Quinn. I want that name.) is off being professionally theatrical until the beginning of the Gaiety semester (second week of October), we don't have Friday class until then. Which means even more time for travel.

So today I decided to take a ferry to Holyhead, a port in north Wales, and do something there. I am more than ridiculously excited about traveling around Ireland and the UK. Trouble is I don't know where to go in Wales or what to do...but I figure if all else fails, I can probably just wander around Snowdonia for 36 hours and call it good. There are far worse problems to have.

(I am also trying to wrangle horseback riding, but none of the stables in North Wales are close enough to any town with rail service to get there on foot. This is the problem traveling by myself: I am on my own two feet and relying on railways and buses, of which there are few in the remote countryside in Wales. Or Ireland. Or anywhere. We'll see. Maybe I'll just hike four miles to go hacking for another two hours. ....I would do that, wouldn't I? Jaysus.)

Not even going to try to write about classes yet. I don't even know. (Except for two things: they are going to be really good and challenging; and our Devising teacher is frighteningly similar to Ki.)

And I leave you with this: Cannot even TELL you how thrilled I am for The Golden Compass movie! )

Love to all.
